Website slogan(s)

Nelu Lazar, 22 May 2008

Can’t decide which slogan to place on top of the pages under website’s logo, so I would think I’ll create a system to show different slogans randomly. This will eventually better define website’s goals for anyone who navigates on more than one of its pages.

May not be May, but…

Nelu Lazar, 21 May 2008

It may not be end of May ‘08 for launching this new web product - as planned a month ago -, but I am approaching a milestone from where its development will start running in a straight line.

To dos:

  • contact a few potential customers and ask for help in defining functionalities while returning advertising offers
  • contact legal entities for TOS and other contracts
  • define cron jobs, payments, searches, item listings
  • plan startup strategy

Found a good template

Nelu Lazar, 19 April 2008

Actually it was not “found” but created. It is a bit simple and sort of dark (side background only), but the information that a user really needs to see can be found very easy.

Now I need to focus more on the process of sending alerts and notifications for different important actions on the website, then to review and revise the entire process from inquiry creation to viewing responses.

Startup estimation - based on things I see building up right now - is end of May 2008.

Resumed Jooveler development

Nelu Lazar, 12 April 2008

Since a few weeks ago I have resumed working on Jooveler structure, look and feel. After tweaking some actions within the system, I’ve started looking closely on providing a good look for the website.

I am still a fan of “simple looks good“, so I will go with a basic color scheme and the classic column layout. Web 2.0 items will surely be present in Jooveler’s template, to deliver a good browsing experience to our users.

Second major testing session to adjust website behaviour

Nelu Lazar, 27 November 2007

Now is the time when I removed all the information entered in website’s database during its first stage of development, and made space for the second set on testing data, entered from scratch. I’ve changed a bit of how things works for user management and I also still need to tweak some functionalities for the main module. I need user registration and login/logout processes to run smooth and very secure, so I will take a much closer look on how these things work so far and adjust all that it seems appropriate to accomplish the goal for this matter.

As a reminder, and also for those of you who turned your TV sets on after the show began, these first posts on this blog are written before the actual website product is released to general public use. That’s the reason why you will notice some secretly hidden statements and somewhat confusing text that, for the moment, avoids revealing the purpose and functionality of this website product. All of these will definitely become much clearer in a bit, after I will open Jooveler’s gates to you for daily basis use. Looking forward to it!

Business socializer

Nelu Lazar, 21 November 2007

Did I mention yesterday that I’m currently working on two main modules? Well, it looks like there will also be implemented more comprehensive relationships between Jooveler users, before actually launching the website. I initially planned this for Tier 2, but it seems more natural and simpler to build this web tool in this fashion, so the 3 main categories of users to greatly benefit from Jooveler the very second after they will register on the website.

Business socializer. This is one of the goals for Jooveler. Sneaking on Google, there is quite a talk out there for business socializing. To me, it’s whether socializing employees, or socialize with your business partners, or better use it as a PR tool and socialize with your customers. Nop, it’s not exactly one of those already existing socializers on web, that are actually great tools for getting (and keeping) people together. Jooveler is more targeted as a business socializer, and it has a less general view for web socialization.

First module almost done

Nelu Lazar, 20 November 2007

And the most important one. I’m actually working on two modules in parallel, both being linked together and working towards users needs. Speaking of users, Jooveler has three main categories of users and visitors, based on their business and interests. Like for my previously developed web project currently running in Romania, I need to take good care of every single user needs and consider all of their most important Jooveler-related interests and add them as features and capabilities to this website.

Back to the reason of this post, I think the plan is to launch Jooveler as soon as I put together these two first modules. Then, more features and new interesting web modules to come.

Google meets Jooveler

Nelu Lazar, 13 November 2007

Google found Jooveler.com for the first time on November 9th, 2007. I assume it was this blog, currently opened to public and Technorati, that made this happen. Jooveler was/is still under heavy development, almost nothing showed up to the crawler. Yahoo!, MSN, Lycos and all other search engines did not meet Jooveler at the moment.

I’m more and more excited for this project while I’m adding new features and functionalities to its modules, that I can’t wait to launch it online, with breaking a bottle of champagne over its “bow” (read “website’s top-menu and logo”). Soon, I say, soon…

Valuable user input

Nelu Lazar, 09 November 2007

What is more valuable than user’s feedback and suggestions? Nothing.

Jooveler works a lot with forms that collects user’s choices for services we and our partners offer, so I thought it might be a good idea to let users help us improve our way of doing things online. Therefore, I’ve added a suggestion box right above the submit button.

Dear Joovelerer (aka “Jooveler user”), please use this box to express your concerns, to issue problems that you notice or just to make some suggestions for us to improve our online service. Thanks!

What do you need, my friend?

Nelu Lazar, 07 November 2007

I’ve started a poll on my current website (version 1.0 of Jooveler) to collect what you, my dear user, really want in regards of online services I could offer to you. There is actually a true contest going on there right now, because any user that responds the survey will become a participant for online voting process. Visitors’ votes for contest participants are randomly recorded, nobody knows whom will give their click to. But what really counts for me is that I will add this survey’s results to other reports that I’ve created in the past year, when I experienced first version of Jooveler, locally, in a single country. I need your input, to build your output.
